Live and let Live: Recollections from the Cathetical Week – Day 1
Live and let Live: a case for the sanctity of human life, is the theme of the Cathetical week holding at the Church of the Assumption Asokoro from November 4th to 7th, 2018. So far, this has been quite an educative, enlightening and spiritually uplifting programme well put together by the Church under the purposeful leadership of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Atsewe.
On day 1 of the Cathetical Week, Fr. Hilary Ugiomoh advocated the abolition of capital punishment and the preservation of life. He requested that all Christians be pro-life. Going on and with the aid of biblical passages, the encyclicals and the African cultures, he stated that life is sacred and that as Africans we value and celebrate life. He further stated that “The Catholic Church believes, teaches and proclaims that human life is sacred”.
If you have missed the first day, do not miss other days as there is still a lot to learn. Please come with your family and invite others as well. The week begins from 6PM daily.
